Hassidic
This exhibition is my second solo show that unfortunately did not go ahead due to the Covid-19 restriction on social gathering, however it is now available online.
‘Hassidic’ looks at the contemporary statues of my life as an Australian Jewish artist based in Sydney, displaying my depictions on iconographic images and objects of Judaica and combining them with my current sense of aestheticism and feeling. I have been working with this reoccurring Subject for the past three years, Jewish Spirituality with a pop culture aesthetic by adding an analogue and digital method to my painting practice.
A few of these works are made as limited-edition archival prints of scanned artworks from my sketchbook and then edited and drawn over digitally using an iPad and photoshop to create works that have a mix of analogue and digital feel. The other works are oil and acrylic original paintings one of which, the ‘Vilna Gates’ painting, became a finalist at the Muswellbrook art prize.
If you are interested in purchasing a work, please see the stockroom.
